07/16/07 Meeting on first set of drawings

• Don't want to change envelope of house mostly due to energy efficiency; would like to keep envelope as sealed as possible: no new windows, no changed windows, etc. No dormers unless they can be super energy efficient.
• No skylights as they are hot in summer and leak heat in the winter.
• We think the chimney is beautiful and would like to keep chimney as exposed as possible, maybe even free-standing.
• Would like to preserve "breeze ways" through house to encourage natural cross ventilation with the windows open. especially north to south and south to north as that's where we get most if not all of our breezes. Would like to keep public rooms as open as possible to encourage air circulation: cooling in summer and heating in winter.
• Would like to have the bedroom in the back of the house.
